Moon Art

Kegstands, Double Barrel bar, and live music. I drew inspiration from the underground rock music culture, specifically R.E.M., of Athens, GA. that fueled the energy Freshman year rowdy nights out. As Quarantine extended and time slowed down I spent hours staring at  these images and painting the nostalgia , which seemed to help pass the time and cope with hard moments. Each piece has found objects and embellishments that I have collected throughout the years. Surrounding the series are the photo references I used to build up the paintings and create a mood that captures the energy of Athens, GA on a Friday night.
